We are a small team of scientists with a wide range of skills and experience. We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to working with you.

Prof. Cecilia Lo
Founder and Director
Dr Cecilia Lo is Professor and Chair of the Department of Developmental Biology in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she also holds the F Sargent Cheever Chair and is Distinguished University Professor of Developmental Biology. She is also Visiting Professor of the Depts of Medicine & Therapeutics and Pediatrics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Director for Centre for Cardiovascular Genomics and Medicine.
Dr Lo received her Bachelor’s degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, PhD from Rockefeller University, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. She began her academic career at the University of Pennsylvania, rising from Assistant Professor to full Professor. She was then recruited to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health where she was the Chief of the Laboratory of Developmental Biology and Director of the Genetics and Developmental Biology Center. This was followed by a move to the University of Pittsburgh where she became the founding Chair of a new Department of Developmental Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr Lo’s research interests are focused on elucidating the genetic/epigenetic mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases using state of the genomics technologies, and with patient derived induced pluripotent stem cells for human disease modelling and drug screens. She has published nearly 200 publications, including many in high impact journals including Nature, Nature Genetics, Cell, Developmental Cell, Cell Stem Cell, Science, Science Translational Medicine, Circulation, and others. This breath and cumulative experience in basic and clinical translational research puts Dr Lo in a strong position to lead GenomeLytix in the deployment of genomic medicine targeted for the Chinese population.
